Golf And Spa Vacations PDF Print E-mail
haleakala crater

Luxury resorts offering both golf packages and spa packages and sometimes packages that combine both, are more and more popular today.  You could be a “Generation X” just looking for some r & r, or a couple looking to put some romance in their life.  This type of vacation is a prefect choice.

Golf can be played year round. When deciding on your location, be sure to take the climate in consideration.  In winter, the best choices are resorts in Florida, Arizona, Southern California, Caribbean and Hawaii.  Las Vegas can also be a good choice in the winter.  Golf in the summer is great in North and South Carolina, Colorado, British Isles, California and many other northern locations.   During the winter season, North and South Carolina offer some very good off season rates.  The same can be said of Arizona in the summer, however, the heat can be brutal!

Kauai is Hawaii’s most popular island for destination weddings.  The rich verdant flora and fauna, striking waterfalls and beautiful beaches give you a choice of the background for your destination wedding.  At VIP TRAVEL, we are able to assist you with all the details.  Here are some of the places that are must sees on Kauai.

The Fern Grotto, which once only Hawaiian Royalty was allowed to enjoy, is only accessible by boat.  You can kayak there; however, the dock is reserved for the tour boats only.

The beauty of the grotto is enhanced with the cooling mists of the waterfall that encourages the outrageous growth of the ferns in and around the cave.  When you arrive at the grotto, you will be serenaded by local Hawaiian musicians playing traditional Hawaiian songs.

Some of the sightseeing you can do is hike through Waipio Valley, also known as the Valley of the Kings.  Check out Puukohola Heiau, this ancient Hawaiian religious temple is the largest temple and has been fully restored.  Go to Parker Ranch and watch Hawaiian cowboys in action.   They are called Paniolo in Hawaiian.

See the world’s most active volcano, Kileaueau.  Make sure to give the Goddess Pele the respect due her.  It is believed she continues to live here and that is why the volcano is active and the lave flows.

From the sandy beach of Kaanapali, to the quaint whaler’s village of Lahaina, to Haleakala Volcano to Hana to golf to snorkeling and whale watching, Maui has something to entertain everyone.

Kaanapali has seven long miles of beautiful sandy beach.  The Black Rock is here and offers interesting snorkeling not too far off shore, especially if you are an early riser.  When I am here, I like to stay at The Sheraton because it is right at the Black Rock. In fact, it is built into the Black Rock.  If you go out early, (around 7am) you might get as lucky as I did and get to swim with giant sea turtles.  That is a highlight of my life I will never forget!  I also saw a small eel, an octopus and numerous fish.  It was great.

Hawaii
Fun in the sun!  Sandy beaches, clear warm water, great snorkeling and diving, fantastic deep sea fishing, golfing and relaxing spa treatments.  The Hawaiian Islands offers all of this and more.  Whether you want a laid back, relaxed, do nothing but sun bathe on the beach or by the pool, to adventure excursions from swimming with sharks to whale watching.

The weather is a balmy 80 and up year round.  While it does rain a bit almost every day, it’s usually just for a few minutes and 10 minutes after the sun is out, you would never know  it had just rained.  January and February are rainier, especially on Kauai.  These are the months for the big surfing waves also.

The best whale watching is from October to April.  The gray whales come to have their babies and enjoy the warm water before moving north to Alaska for the summer months.
